If you’re reading this then you made it through 2020. Congratulations. We shared much pain in the year of the Great Pandemic. In October of 2020 I lost my job after 19 years. This blog is a fictionalized look back at that career, and my personal struggles at work and home.
Let’s call my small city Roqueforte, in the state of New Amsterdam. I worked at a Roqueforte University and it’s associated hospital, which I’ll call Weaks Hospital, named after Beauregarde Weaks III. For many years I was a Radiation Health Physicist in the Division of Radiation Safety under the Department of Health and Safety. Over the years I worked for four Radiation Safety Officers (RSO) and for most of those years one man was department head of Health and Safety.
